Designer checks are now being created with images by famous illustrators and painters. Thomas Kinkade, Kathy Davis and Mary Engelbreit are just a few of the famous artists that have their artwork printed on checks.

Check printing companies have the ability to print anything they want for the background image on the checks that people order. They have added some very artistic styles and designs to checks.

The background designs that you can enjoy include marbelized designs, tie dye themes, floral images, graphic designs in circles, triangles and any other shapes you can imagine. Gone are the days where your only choices where the safety blue background or the boring green safety backgrounds.

One special artist that has her designs on checks is Mary Engelbreit. She began her career as an artist at a very early age. When she was 10 years old she had a special place in her home that was deemed, the studio. She loved drawing and eventually began her first successful publications through a greeting card company. She now has her own company called the Mary Engelbreit Studios. Her illustrations are available on personal checks, checkbook covers, debit card covers, address labels and bill organizers. They have a playful, childlike theme and give you that unique designer theme.

Another artist that has her artwork on designer checks is Kathy Davis. Kathy, a world renown and respected designer has created thousands of artistic designs. Coming from a career in teaching, her new artistic designs have helped her to succeed in these tough economic times. In 2007, she was so successful that she was making $15 million dollars in annual revenue.

Her mission is to “scatter joy.” She is well known for helping people to create their most abundant life. You will find her artwork on stamps, checks, checkbook covers and many home decor items. Kathy likes to use watercolors in her illustrations of flowers and nature. The designs she creates are cheerful, using bright colors and a playful brush strokes. She has made a great contribution to the designer checks available now for you to enjoy.

Our last artist to discuss is Thomas Kinkade. His work is well known for the conservative old American themes. He often paints pictures of quaint homes, gardens, churches and has Christian based ideologies throughout his works. He often hides the letter N in his pictures in honor of his wife, Nanette. With revenues in the area of $53 million dollars, his mass reproductions have become well known. In the line of printed designer checks, you’ll find some of his most famous church paintings with scripture verses on them as well as his garden designs. Address labels, checkbook covers and checks have these designs printed on them.

With the large variety of designer checks available to the public now, there is no reason to not enjoy using them to brighten up your personal image and give you pleasure each and every time you write a check.

Do economics courses leave you craving a bit more crunch? Find yourself wanting to take a bite out of bio? Are your literature courses a bit too sweet, and your poly-sci courses a little too sour? Maybe a traditional liberal arts education isn’t exactly your cup of tea… What is? Culinary study.

The Call of the Kitchen

If you’d rather spend time studying a cookbook than a chem book, you probably know it already – most culinary schools seem to have an inclination toward the kitchen before they graduate high school. What you may not know is that your passion can translate to a very exciting and lucrative culinary career.

“I spent my freshman year at New York University (New York, NY),” say Debbie Shure. “I had a kitchen in my dorm and I would always cook for my friends. It was a great hobby, but I never knew that I wanted to make a career out of it.” Things have since changed, as Debbie recently graduated from Johnson … Wales’ (Providence, RI), a world-renowned culinary school, and now has a successful culinary career at Chocolatier magazine.

The same held true for Nathan Rhodes, who worked in Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s corporate office after high school. “I always had a passion for food, and I picked up on that early on,” says Nathan, now 24 and studying at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA, Hyde Park, NY).”I was working a corporate job, because that’s what I thought I was ’supposed’ to do. Then I saw a television special on WOLFGANG PUCK [a famous chef and restaurant owner]. It inspired me to apply to culinary school, and now I love it to death!” Well – death by chocolate, maybe.

Nathan was able to find just the right recipe for his culinary career dreams. How to start? By finding the right culinary school for you.

Culinary Schools: Not Your Average Classroom

You may have a knack for whipping up late-night mac n’ cheese or adding just the right amount of cream and sugar in your morning coffee, but culinary school will probably be a bit more demanding.

“CIA’s associate’s program is about 85 percent hands-on learning,” says Nathan. “The day starts with a lecture that reviews recipes and answers questions, and for the next five hours you’re in the kitchen. Then there’s a lecture to close the day.”

But the hard work pays off. “The thing about culinary school is you get out what you put in,” says Debbie. “If you work hard, you’ll learn a ton. Your instructors are completely willing to help you as long as you’re motivated.”

The Real (Culinary) World

As the recent reality show, “The Restaurant” showed, the day-to-day operations of a culinary career – particularly within a popular eatery – are frantic, fast-paced, demanding, and most importantly, exciting. Most culinary schools have some kind of externship program, where you work on site, to help give you a taste of what a culinary career is like.

“CIA’s externship lasts 21 weeks and you can go to any of the 1,700 approved sites,” explains Nathan. “It’s sort of like a job application, where the restaurants are looking to hire students. You apply, go on an interview, and then hopefully get the position.” For students embarking on such study, finding a culinary school that places great value on in-the-kitchen experience is vital to your future culinary career.

A Culinary Career Smorgasbord

Perhaps the most important thing to know about earning a culinary degree at culinary school is that it won’t limit you to the kitchen. “The food industry is experiencing a huge boom right now, and there are many more jobs than there used to be,” says Colleen Pontes, a CIA graduate and former Chocolatier food writer. “The popularity of MARTHA STEWART opened the door for food media and food TV, and the industry in general is generating so much excitement and interest at the moment.”

“We want to show people the culinary career opportunities that are out there,” says Kathy Shaw, sales and marketing director at Le Cordon Bleu (Ottawa, Ontario), and graduate of the school’s culinary school programs in Paris. “I started out wanting to be a chef, now I do the school’s marketing. There are many ways to make this passion a career.”

“There are countless culinary careers beyond being a chef like catering, food TV, food writing, food art, event planning, food critic positions,” agrees Nathan. “Even research and development at major food companies like Hershey’s or Campbell’s – all of the sauces, candies, soups and flavors those mega companies put out are designed by people with culinary abilities.”

And you’ll never be stuck in one place. “When I first started, I wanted to be in the kitchen making desserts for people,” says Debbie. “Now I realize I want to be a food writer, which will be great. I can combine all of my food knowledge with my writing skills and help Americans understand what good food is all about!”

To publish means to make information and literature available for the public to view. Publishing involves the process of producing and distributing literature so that the public can have access to it. Sometimes, certain authors publish their own work and in that case they become their own publishers.

The traditional meaning of the word “publishing” means to print newspapers and books on paper and distribute them. But now with improved technology we have the Internet and other digital information systems. So, now publishing is done not only through printing but also electronically. Of late a large number of periodicals and books have been published online and electronically through CDs and DVDs.

The authors of traditional printed materials sell exclusive territorial intellectual property rights that match the list of countries in which distribution is proposed (i.e. the rights match the legal systems under which copyright protections can be enforced). In the case of books, the publisher and writer must also agree on the intended formats of publication mass-market paperback, “trade” paperback and hardback are the most common options.

The situation is slightly more complex if electronic formatting is to be used. Where distribution is to be by CD-ROM or other physical media, there is no reason to treat this form differently from a paper format, and a national copyright is an acceptable approach.

If you want to publish a book, there are several steps involved in the process. The steps involved in publishing are development, acquisition, editing, designing of cover etc, production (which involves printing on paper or electronically), marketing and distribution.

The first step involved if you want to publish a book is submission. The author or the literary agent has to submit a proposal or query letter. The next step in the publishing process is negotiation. Once the proposal has been accepted, the commissioning editors start to negotiate the purchasing of intellectual property rights and finally agree on a certain rate. One of the main steps in publishing is the editorial stage. In this stage of publishing, the work to be published is reviewed and proofread and if any changes are to be made the author is asked to rewrite or make some small changes. This is done usually to match the grammatical requirements and style of each market. Requesting for additional information and structural changes are part of this stage of publishing.

Next stage in publishing is the prepress stage. Once the text is finalized, the design has to be decided. Artwork, photographs and layout need to be finalized. Typesetting is done for placement of artwork and setting the layout. Proofreading is done in this stage of publishing also. Paper quality, composition of dust jacket and binding method has to be decided. Once typesetting is done, the files are saved normally in the PDF format.

The publisher is the one who usually controls marketing tasks such as advertising. If it is a small company, tasks such as proofreading, editing and layout may be outsourced to freelancers.

This is only a simple overview of what it takes to publish a book. If you successfully publish one book, you can start thinking about a reprint or about publishing a new book!

A “Siggy”, “Sig”, Sig Tag” or SigTag” is an image used as a signature in forums and on emails. Closely related are “Tubes” (a tube is the removal of the background, while still leaving the main subject of the artwork intact). There is an entire internet culture based around the creation and use of siggies, tags and tubes.Â

Countless people exercise their creativity creating miniature works of art (or maybe I should say modifying the art of others) while creating and maintaining communities of like-minded people. I first became aware of siggies, tags and tubes when I began to be approached by a series of people, mostly “moderators”, of groups devoted to creating and helping others learn to create these uniquely internet art forms. I have a large number of concept stock photos and funny animal pictures on my site that are perfect for making a new siggy.

Siggies, Tags and Tubes seem to be closely related to Incredimail and to a lot of people using Paint Shop Pro. Apparently a lot of PSP Tutorials are aimed at making these often highly creative e-mail, stationery, and forum signatures.

Quite often the creators of these diminutive art pieces begin with work from another artist and then using digital manipulation, add their own twist to “borrowed” images they discover on the web. Sometimes the art will be stripped out from its background (a tube) or even animated.Â

There is increasing scrutiny on such groups for the abuse of copyright. Siggy forums and groups are responding by requesting permission from artists before using their artwork.  They usually ask the artist to grant permission in the form of an email and supply a set of Artists Terms and Conditions.

Siggy artists who are interested in using the work of professional stock photographers for creating their own signature tags and or tubes can usually obtain the rights as long as they conform to a few guidelines. Most photographers will want the creators of these e-mail and forum signatures to include their copyright notice and prohibit commercial use of the images.

They need to do this because often the stock images are already under contract to the stock photo agencies like Getty, Istockphoto, and Blend Images, and using the images for commercial purposes would interfere with the contracts the photographers have with the stock photo agencies.

For use of my own stock photos I also require a link to my site from the siggy creator’s site. Perhaps the fad will benefit me through branding or through increased sales of my images. Time will tell.

According to the World Bank painted wholesalers Maikeweida investigation, the U.S. market, a popular line of oil paintings from China, 70%, 80% from Shenzhen and Xiamen oil painting village, which from an unknown small village , Has become “the first Chinese oil painting village”, experts have been called “dafen mode” and “Wu Shipu” phenomenon.”
nonce, China’s oil production has started from the workshop of the successful transition to an independent operating large-scale industrial development pipeline, China’s national conditions, is very good at large-scale assembly line production.
Xiamen is located in the Village Wushipu with respect to production, sales painting reproduction assembly line operations in order to copy the way the original works, and then selling low-cost, the formation of large-scale oil processing plant reproduction. Here, paint, brushes, canvas and other materials are extremely cheap, a small village there are hundreds of oil painting stores . The paintings are sold in the Chinese coastal cities such as Xiamen, this spring, based in Manchester, CEO of the Negev Qi, Ge • Security was also here that he was less than an hour on Decided to order a large, the painting will be completed this fall, when the full 6 40 feet long containers destined for Europe and the United States. Ge was that each of the framed picture to increase in the price of 25 dollars to 30 dollars, and each piece of work about 1 dollar freight, he was prepared to sell oil to those furniture stores, each in the price of 35-40 U.S. dollars, ” Oil retail prices in Europe will reach 100 U.S. dollars each to 125 U.S. dollars, while the retail price in the United States will reach 160 U.S. dollars each. ”
Chinese oil painting has the advantage of producing the oil into a pipeline of the operation, copying a very meticulous division of labor, not only to improve efficiency, lower costs even lower.
Chinese artists low pay
In China, however, only a small number of artists like Chen Yifei, ZAO Wou-ki, Wu Guanzhong, and other works can be sold in Europe and the United States each hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars in price, most of the Chinese artist’s works are priced at 500 U.S. dollars each Or even less. Many Chinese Creative artists of the only sources of those postcards or pictures from the Internet, and so on, Lucas copy of the 20,000 pieces of works of Van Gogh is on a roll from the Van Gogh-page book, is that they rely on the master copy of these To work to earn living expenses low.
Most of the artists after two years of apprenticeship is a career began after the oil drawn, they pay less than 200 U.S. dollars per month “great-fen village,” China is not unique to the industry, the United States had a similar “fun village” model Running, but now, where the paintings were missing workers and designers.
At that time, in the United States gathered in the northern New Jersey for a number of families, restaurants and hotels designed by the arts of painting, but these companies have abandoned the direction of the production, the main focus of the import business. Dalong to the company (daeryungcomopany), for example, 20 years ago, they have a division devoted to painting 7 painting in indoor workplaces, and four years ago, the last artist has left the company. The company members of the Week Helen (helencho) said: “It’s a good place to start when we can clearly tell what the market needs oil painting artist, but now, the Chinese people catch up.”
The United States trade alert
Chinese oil pipeline operations in the West not only caused concern in the art circle, but also Europe and the United States and around the world will be the artists, art galleries and even the industry will have a great impact. Many arts organizations of the United States have begun to guard against this phenomenon and to investigate whether or not to follow a series of Chinese oil paintings in the United States related to the copyright law. China’s exports of oil companies agreed that each copy of the paintings are handmade by the artist, so there will not be infringing copyright. However, the United States and the Visual Arts Gallery Association, Robert did not agree with this statement, “the 20th century, before the creation of works of art, of course, be free to copy and trafficking, but whether it works in modern times was’ reasonable ‘and copy sales are illegal.

Did you know that you could boost your income or even create an income just by utilizing the public domain? Maybe that term is vague or unfamiliar. Simply stated, the public domain refers to the status of certain types of creative material that may have once been copyrighted or patented. That material, though created by other people, belongs to the public. The ‘public’, which includes you, can then use this material in any way they see fit.

Some examples of material that could be in the public domain include music, books, audio recordings, artwork or unclassified material created by the U.S. Government. Yes! Even if the U.S. Government created it, you can use it to your benefit. That includes Government forms, white papers, photographs, broadcasts and other literature.

All of this material which may have been created by experts, professionals in their field, who pulled together years of struggle and research, now belongs to anyone who can put it to good use. It’s a completely legal process that companies have used for years.

HOW MATERIAL BECOMES PART OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN

Now don’t think that if you spend years of research and labor to produce a book, a report or an audio recording, that it can just suddenly not belong to you anymore. There are ways to protect your material, but, of course, it is up to you to take the necessary actions to actually do it. Let’s go through the different ways that material can become part of the public domain.

The first way something enters the public domain is by virtue of the fact that it was created by the U.S. Government. Though people sometimes get confused, it is the Government that works for the people and not the other way around. So when the Government conducts a study and publishes its findings, it’s like telling an employee to gather information and report back to the company. The ‘company’ in this analogy is THE PUBLIC!

The second way a copyrighted or patented thing becomes part of the public domain is if the copyright or patent has already expired. Supposing a person creates something that can be copyrighted or patented, that ownership is for a limited period of time. For a copyright, the length of time is generally the duration of the author’s life plus 70 years before it becomes part of the public domain.

A patent’s lifespan is only 20 years, but it can be renewed. Also, material that was created before copyright laws were in place is now part of the public domain and that includes anything created before 1923. The bible and the inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci are therefore part of the public domain.

A third way material enters the public domain is if it is a fact. However, there is a stipulation. If you were to come up with a new mathematical formula, that would become part of the public domain. You can’t own facts.

On the other hand, if you were to use that formula in conjunction with other formulas to create a new kind of computer program, that program could be owned by you, protected and, therefore, NOT enter the public domain. So facts belong to the public, but if you creatively organize and/or present those facts, that can be copyrighted or patented by you and thus would not enter the public domain.

You should now have a fair understanding of how material becomes part of the public domain. All you need to do is find it and use it creatively to profit from it. For instance, maybe you could take the inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci, recreate the blueprints and build a best-selling novel around them.

Perhaps you could search for and gather, Government Reports on a specific topic and then provide your own analysis on how to interpret them. Everyone knows Government documents can be difficult to understand! It’s possible that some Government Studies support and give credibility to your business or invention.

In that case, publish the Studies on your website, in your newsletter or in a Press Release. Your options are unlimited in the ways you can use material found in the public domain to your benefit.

It’s important to note that the copyright and patent laws can get extremely complex, therefore only use this information as a solid foundation. After all the technicalities of Law jargon, the U.S. Governments, all 50 State Governments, the European Union and other countries get factored in, it can quickly become an overwhelming task to understand it. That’s why it’s always a good idea to check with your local governing bodies to make sure you are following the law of the land.

This article is about the kung fu martial arts and you can find some useful information in it if you are a fan of the kung fu martial arts.

Shiming Zhou, the boxing champion (gold medal winner of the 48 kg level boxing game) of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games, arrived at Chongqing (a big city in south west China) on 04/22/2009. He is here to prepare for the National Games of China. In his eyes, this National Games is a piece of cake. His goal is to become the first professional boxer of China. In the year of 2009, his career theme is the National Games of China, but his long term goal is the boxing rings of Las Vegas or the New York Madison Square Garden. “I wanna be a good representative of China, just like Yao Ming.” Zhou said. (info for the kung fu martial arts fans)

Actually, this is not the first time for Zhou to visit Chongqing. He has some good friends here. “This is the second time for me to be here to attend the boxing games. But I once drove a car to Chongqing by myself as a tourist. To tell the truth, I did not have much fun here last time because of the time limit. Buy I am already in love with this city. Chongqing is very beautiful and you can find many delicious food here. I am planning to stay here for a few days after the National Games.” Zhou said.

When Shiming Zhou arrrived at Chongqing, he only did the boxing training for one time. He is very confident about his boxing skills and he even spent some spare time to hang out with his old friends in the night. All his friends are very proud of Zhou and they all believe that Zhou will win the gold medal in this National Games for sure.

“I haven’t attent the Chinese boxing games for serveral years now. I am not so familiar with the rules of the National Games any more.” Zhou said. When the news reporter asked him about Yongsheng Qing – his opponent of the first boxing game. He said: “To be honest, I do not know much about him, but I am not worring about the games. I have maintained my good phyisical conditons since the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games and I am confident about myself. I did not even think about the strategy when I enter the top 8 in this game. To try my best or not in this game is my coach’s decision, not mine.” (useful kung fu martial arts info)

Before the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games, Zhou made a career plan: Win the Olympics gold medal first, then move to the professional boxing rings and become a professional boxer. Zhou acomplished his first goal, but the dream of becoming a professional boxer has to be postponed because of the National Games of China. “But I will never give up my dream.” Zhou said.

“I wanna move to the professional boxing rings for sure, but this is not just a decision of myself. I also need to listen to the advices from my coach and the leaders of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC). The permission from the GASC is a must have for him to move to the professional boxing rings.

Someone said : “Once Zhou become a professional boxer, he will be another representative of China in the world.” Zhou only responded this with a smile. “First, I need to get the chance to stand in the professional boxing rings. I must try my best to get good grade in the games, so I can win the supports from the 1.3 billion Chinese people. I wanna be a guy like Yao Ming for sure. He is the pride of China.” Zhou said.

Here is a resume of Shiming Zhou: (useful kung fu martial arts and boxing info)

Gender: Male.
Sports type: 48 kg boxing.
Weight: 48 kg.
Date of birth: 05/18/1981.
Height: 165 cm.
Coath: Chuanliang Zhang.
Best grades: God medal of the 2005 World Boxing Championships , God medal of the 2007 World Boxing Championships.
Career path: Start boxing trainings in 1996.

All by themselves every Tom, Dick and Harry can now publish their creations for free (or with very little cost)!

Where do musicians, movie makers, comedians, authors, educators, photographers, graphic artists, hobbyists, political activists and business speculators converge for a global audience with no traditional publisher? On websites that are completely automated, enabling everyone to self-publish using state-of-the-art technology, of course! These services print-on-demand, incurring product costs only when they receive an order, so they offer services at low cost or for free. Self-publishing action is increasing.

Anyone can now publish their passions by printing books, compact discs, photography or original artwork on posters and framed prints, or graphic designs for clothing and other products! It is automated so all the content, artwork, product selection (with some limits), retail prices and profit margins are self determined and self published at websites like http://CafePress.com and http://Lulu.com. This writer has done it on both of these sites. Of course, the intellectual property must be your own because all copyright laws apply. How cool is that? It is very cool and state-of-the-art!

For all of us except traditional publishers, this is a dream come true! If I were a traditional publisher, I would start thinking a career change toward more of my own intellectual property creation might be needed, to survive.

Back on point, for traditional publishers and everyone who wants to self publish and sell something they have created, below is an overview of what it takes to get it done. What you must do in the case of a book for example, is everything. You must write the manuscript and prepare it in PDF format exactly as it will print. Adobe Acrobat is a popular program to convert your text to PDF format. You must prepare the cover art, spine and back cover artwork files in a graphics art program, exactly as it will print with margins, bleeds, all of it and then convert it to the format required by your self publishing service. And you must set the sale price and profit margins! Costs from the print-on-demand publishing services are predetermined based upon variables of book size, paper type, book style, page count and binding options. Options can include hard cover, soft cover and more unusual choices.

A little reading about copyright, trade mark and trade name laws from easily found websites through search engines and you will know how to incorporate those symbols into your files.

Once you have all of that prepared, with your own legal protections on your intellectual property in place, you upload the files to your online self publisher(s) of choice. Then order a sample! When you have it the way you want it, then you have a new task to undertake.

That would be promoting your new self published work, which this article may assist me in accomplishing. There are plenty of online pay services, and a few free ones providing minimal distribution, to distribute press releases about your new venture and creation(s). That is one method of raising awareness. Another is writing articles as Randall Ulbricht of http://Article-Outlet.com has so thoroughly explained to us in the blog at his website. In the case of clothing and other imprinted products, wearing and using the products yourself in public is one of the most obvious ways of raising awareness and increasing your brand recognition.

I never said it would be easy.
